Well, i finally did my first DIY distressed jeans shorts or anything on DIY fashion on the blog but unfortunately for me, i lost the photos and even a cute video to go with it when the laptop crashed. Yeah, talk about heart break. Since, i won't be able to share photos & videos of the steps i took for this particular distressed jeans shorts with you, i can sum it all up for now but will do a new DIY and maybe a fun video along with it for you all again soon.
To be honest it is so easy. All you really need is a pair of old jeans pants, scissors, a marker, a washer and dryer.
Step 1:
Use the Marker to mark where you want to cut and rip on the jeans. Mine was slightly above the knee so i can fold up the jeans on the ends.Step 2:
Use Scissors to cut pant legs off and cut into preferred ripped areas on jeans.Step 3:
Wash once in the washing machine.Step 4:
Finally, throw it in the Dryer to run until dry. Now put it back in the dryer again and let it run through another cycle. This helps loosens the threads on the jeans some more.I preferred to keep the rippled holes on my pair of jeans shorts smaller since it was my first attempt. Just to see how it will turn out. Next time, i know i can definitely go crazy if i wanted to.
To style it
I decided to pair it with a sleeveless faux leather peplum top- Keeping it casual at the bottom and a little dressy on top. The pop of red brightens up the look for a nice summer day in the city. Is it bad that i have only one peplum top in my closet?
