Okay, since some of you have been lovely enough to ask about my well being lately, i guess i might as well just spill the beans. First of all, i have been good, thanks for asking. Lately, i have been working a lot on a few things. This is the thing, I have always wanted to do so many things and recently, i have been so inspired that I have finally started working on a few projects. One of which is my online store. Without going into a lot of details yet, it is really nothing big. It is going to be small and a start to see what happens. It is just a more organized way of presenting and selling pieces i find that are 100% carefully handpicked by me. They will include some brand new stuff from my finds while traveling, and also some vintage finds. Regardless of what the situation might be, every single piece i sell will be in remarkable condition. Anyway, i will definitely let you all know once it goes live. Hopefully in a week.
Meanwhile, how about a dashiki shirt for a change. I found this unisex dashiki shirt while walking through the stores here on Turks and i knew i had to have one. Fun part is, talking about my store, i picked up another one in the same color to sell in my store for anyone who likes them.
Dashiki is an African fabric, and it is worn by many Africans. Although, it is a traditional piece, it still has a very bohemian feel to it that i enjoy. In the last few years it has slowly made its way across the pond and i have seen a beautiful trend rising, especially amongst fashionistas and celebrities with likes of Beyonce Knowles seen wearing one.
A great advantage to this one size fits all, that is obviously big for my petite self, was the fact that it got cold on Turks this past week and i had to layer it with a shirt. Yes, it is winter season here on Turks but it feels more like spring. Now i am so inspired to style this dashiki shirt in several other ways.

So vibrant - love.
Mr Essentialist
YOUR DASHIKI IS SO FABULOUS!! The last time I was in Ghana (2012), I kept thinking dashikis were boring because I only saw them in the same boring fake kente patterns. Now, I wish I hunted down different patterns and bought a few. sigh. I'll just tell grandma to mail me some.

Every time I read up on yoir blogspot and view pictures of you I feel like I just attended a party and having fun with all your looks. I used to have a Danshiki like this one on you but in red, you styled this in such a unique way and I love it. Glad you are doing great and I would love to visit the store once it goes up.
